France: Massive Customs Hold Up
Dear Customers,
Please note that as we have observed a massive customs delay for postal packages arriving in France, we would therefore strongly urge all customers in France to top up and opt for Expedited Shipping, where possible.
Unfortunately, as France customs have diverted all responsibilities to La Poste (who is the national postal carrier for France) for questions on customs clearances and duty payment for postal packages but La Poste remains unreachable and non-cooperative about our enquiries to them, we deeply regret to inform that we will therefore not be liable for any lost mails or packages that are held for clearance or not delivered in France from hereon. This is because France customers have already been forewarned if they have opted for the 'Free Standard Shipping' option during checkout.
We hope to seek your kind understanding and continuous support as we are really at our wits' end since most customers in France do not wish to liaise directly with La Poste or France customs and to wait an uncertainly long period of time, instead preferring for us to refund them in full. This refund arrangement, however, makes us at a losing point as we are making a double loss (cost of the item + postal fees + refund to customer), which is very unsustainable for our small online business.
